Algae is interesting - well it is now to be honest before reading this I knew so very little- now I am enlightened.

the author splits the book into four parts where it comes from, how it is a food source , household and practical uses 

I do hope seaweed is added to our food more often as it is rich in nutrients, it is interesting to know historical details and that it takes the reader up to modern day with climate change.

the authors personal accounts of meeting with scientists and her thoughts were very informative and made this book even more real to the reader.

Easy to read, well researched and surprising discoveries along the way make this a really good read.

Interesting story of Brian Reader the notorious thief takes the reader through the Brinks -Mat, Hatton Garden the east end Kray twins and gives the reader the inside story of this notorious thief - his life and thinking behind what he was involved in.

Although well written and a good read I cannot feel sorry for these and the other guys involved in these terrible  crimes - it is becoming history and the book makes interesting reading and the history of this and characters such as the Krays does make interesting reading. I am mindful innocent people did get hurt along the way too. It happened so it was interesting from their stance what made them do this and the reader will be shocked at times too.

This is a sea turtle called Fergus who is different from his siblings as he has a tougher shell, has claws and appears to be bigger, sea creatures try to eat him, and is on the hunt for his parents. He does not realise who he is, but the question is will he?

the illustrations are really sweet and the colours evoke the sea and oceans.

Fergus is a lovely character and children will warm to him.

This book is narrated by a wild cat - so quite unusual to start off. The mystery is fairly obvious guys- there are some bad people around. Anyway Catastrophe is the name of this wild cat injured in Scotland and rescued by a couple- whose aunt passes away and murder is suspected.
All sounds strange reader- actually it works and the descriptions are good, a murder from an animal point of view.

I watched on TV first hand when the Chernobyl disaster unfolded in 1986 and knew then the impact would carry on well after our live times. I have watched a lot of factual programmes on this and remember the Ukrainian Club in Bradford helping the children of this terrible disaster.


The book  tells the story of a Ukrainian Chernobyl survivor who comes to the UK and adopted in the UK. He becomes a nuclear physicist employed in Scotland he is in a naval base. A incident on s nuclear submarine bring the horror of Chernobyl back to him, This is about him facing up to his past and survival.

This book is a good read, not surprising it is upsetting at times, well researched and recommended.

Just beautiful and what better for children reluctant for bed to have this as a bed time story, Well paced for your child and children and adults will love the sweet illustrations by Liuba Syrotiuk. This book encourages parents and their children to have quality time before sleep. I would envisage the parent reading to the child and sharing the experience and interaction with the illustrations. Brings back routines and for the child and parent a positive effect with going to bed. There is so much emphasis with sitting round the table and I think bed times are equally important.

A recommended book to read to children then they may pick this up when slightly older and re read this- delightful.

Frightening good read

It was a real rollercoaster ride to the end.

Well researched and tells the story of child brothers in Cyprus seeing their female members of their family being raped in front of them - that is something no one can forget and revenge is often talked about but not always carried out. 30 years later the target is the British Royal Navy.

In Britain a British man was there too and on the beach, bombs falling and his mother losing a limb.

the British man is fighting global terrorism.

Well written thriller keeps the reader on their toes, gritty and brutal taking the reader from London to Lahore. It is a frightening read although surrounded by acts of terrorism on the news, this brings the reader face to face with reality.

This story kept me reading on till the very end, a recommended book.
