Erotic short stories

Luminous Dreams by Alexa Piper

I was asked to review this book by www.librarything.com

I have never read erotic romance short stories so this was a first for me. I have snuggled down in the cold dark days of January and found these nine stories to be creative, dreams that you were not sure if this was real or not - but as these were beautifully written, I just enjoyed. There is a touch of fairytale too.

A different slant on the erotic and well written.

A different type of Detective novel

Searching for Gatsby: A Ronnie Lake Murder Mystery (An Accidental Lady Detective, A Private Investigator Crime Series Book 3)

I was asked to review this book by Inspired by Kathy

This was book three in the series but I was able to get into the story quickly. The main character Ronnie in their 50s, divorced  and is a private investigator.

A thief is murdered and with the help from her friends finds out why this has taken place then the detective work begins as she tries to work out who has done this.

A different slant on detective books - I am now a Niki Danforth fan and will be looking out for her novels in 2017.

A good Christmas love story

Paper Love (A Chicago Christmas Book 2) by [Wynne, Aubrey]

I received this book to review on new years eve and as I was off for all the holidays - I was still in Christmas mode.

I loved this book beautiful Christmas story- the author writes well and I was there with the characters that the author has portrayed as real to the reader. This author has attention to detail.

This is essentially about Joss and Ben and their journey to love, with tragedy thrown into the mix.

A lovely story for the holidays.

A good read - the reader will not be able to put down

The Mercy of the Tide

I was asked to review this book by Librarything.com

The cover intrigued me to start with. This is about loss and love. The characters are real and flawed so this adds to the story. It is unusual but in a good way and to be honest I was gripped from the beginning set in a coastal town during the cold war. four characters, a body is found. As the story unfolds we see the characters lives unfold too -warts and all.

The authors descriptions took me to this place I was immersed.

This is dark with some supernatural thrown in to the pot. although it appears not to be cheerful it gives an insight to all of us, we have all been tainted by loss at some point in out lives.

There are twists which take the reader by surprise I could hear myself saying did not see that coming.

Good novel by an author to look out for 2017.

Erotic and well written thriller great combination

Picture This: An erotically charged thriller set in the art world of New York by [Learner, Tobsha]

I was asked to review this by Librarything.com.

To be honest I was rather skeptical after reading the Fifty Shades series where the author's writing skills left a lot to be desired.

This author can write and although this was erotic there was a good story line to this thriller. I found myself wanting to know what happened so was racing to the finishing posts, the characters worked, interesting plot set in the art world.

The erotic scenes were well written and enjoyable, I did not find as I have done in other erotic books flicked to the erotic scenes- there was a good balance.

This author's genres include historical fiction, erotic and thrillers.

I am now seeking out this author.

Good Sequel

Illusion

I was asked to review by Inspired by Kathy

I read this in the new year to a good start to 2017. Although this is aimed at young adults - it is equally a good read for adults too.

This is the sequel to possession in which I read and was lucky to review in November.

We pick up again with Constance ( necromancer-is a supposed practice of magic involving communication with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily)   her mother is teaching her, problems with her father and there is a another necromancer - and they need to stop him.

Darker than the first book and the author is letting the read know a little more and we know there will be book three (I really hope so)

Well written with a good story line - I recommend this author to young adults and older readers.

Amazing

Moonglow

I was fortunate to be off for the all of the holidays and was lucky to be asked by Lovereading.co.uk to review this book.

Every so often a book comes your way that is so endearing and you think this is why I read and love reviewing books and Moonglow is just that.

The author was inspired by his grandfather and during his end of life care to write down his grandfathers stories. So with the effects of his analgesic he digs into his past and tells tales of his life, history and some amazing stories. Whether this is truth or fiction it is up to the reader to decide.

The reader is made to think about life, relatives - just how much do you know about the lives they lead/led.

it is emotional and best of all a great read. Will be in the top ten when published this month in January 2017.

What a great book to begin my blog in 2017.
